several different species with the warmer water temps

Been a while since my last report being that I was on the water just about every day the the two weeks.  With that being said I have really started to see the changes from pre spawn walleyes and saugers to the post spawn.

You can still catch walleyes and saugers but you will need to change techniques to put fish into the boat. We have fished Dubuque rugs, vertical jogged , pitched plastics and blades over the last week and a half to put fish into the boat. Not only walleyes but also white bass, smallmouth bass, flat head cat fish, and sheepshead.    Can you tell the water is warming up?

I have had some great clients of late which include marlin jerking Bill pictured below with his dandy post spawn sauger, Chase Donaldson who for a 14 year old young man had some great patients and concentration that helped him put several fish into the boat on Friday the 15 th.  he is pictured below with a couple of his fish from this date

On Saturday the 16 th we had a little tougher day not only due to the barge traffic but also due to the amount of tourney fishermen fishing the river.  We boat fish but not at the pace as the other two days before.   I'm my eyes the 6 barges that went through in a short amount of time really effected the area we were targeting the walleyes and saugers.  Still had a good time with Brian, Carter and Grandpa Brian today and hopefully what I thought you today helps with you fishing trips in the future

The river has dropped very quickly as of late.   But the clarity is extremely clean for this time of the year.  Colors and plastics really did matter for my boat to put fish into the boat over the last couple weeks.   That's where being out there just about everyday really pays off.

On a side note I would like to say congrats to Ryan King on his awesome catch of a walleye she was 15.2 lbs and 32 inches long with a 24 1/2 inch girth.  Dream fish for any walleye fishermen

Good luck out there guys and gals!!!!!!
