Pool 4 walleye and sauger report

The river is receding as of right now and it seems the walleye and sauger bite is picking up.   Each day can be a little different, you will need to keep in mind fish don't sit still and at this time of the year they move a little more.

Thirsday morning Scott, Lucas and Amy joined me at Everetts resort at 715 am.  We set out to give the Limit Creek 8'3 telescopic trolling rods a work out today and that's wmexactly what we did.  We trolled in several areas today some had keeper sized walleyed and sauger a and some had those pesky mind boggling 14- 14 3/4 inches.   Although fun to keep the rod bowed over I like to move around and try and find the ones for the frying pan.

Lucas had the hot hand to start the morning catching the first 4 keepers that we put into the live well    Not all walleyes we did have a couple keeper sauger a too.  It did not take long and his dad (Scott) started to catch up to the young fella and that put the pressure on the young man to pay attention to his rod a little more.  By the End of the morning Amy swooped in and caught the biggest walleye of the day today.   Scott told me that's what normally happens when Amy gets out with them.  great time on the water with your family Scott and I look forward to another day in the future.

Friday late afternoon I Had a trip with Don and his grandson Truman.   We fished a couple areas this afternoon catching walleyes and sauger it just seemed a little harder to get the keepers late in the afternoon on this date.   Truman even caught his first Flathead catfish today that the boys took home to try out.  After a few tries and finding my fish holding gloves I finally got Truman to hold a couple of his fish from this afternoon.   Hope what I taught you guys helped out for the weekend.   Look forward to seeing you gentlemen in the future.

Both days I concentrated in water depths that went from 3-10 foot.  The water temperature in my vessel was 73 degrees and the river was down to 5'9 on the gage.   As it continues to drop I might actually get to fish some late summer spots.   Hopefully !!!

Good luck out there guys and gals !!!!!!
